At Invetstore, we work in partnership not only with our members, but also with their veterinary practices. If you wish to purchase prescription animal medicines, we will need to ask you for the details of your animal’s vet practice when you register with us. We will also need to confirm some of the details with your vets before we can process any prescription. For practices which haven’t worked with us before, this can sometimes take a day or two, but for our partner practices which work with us regularly it is a simple process.
What information is required to register?
Along with your name, address and contact details, we also need some information on the animals you wish to buy medicines for (species, name, date of birth, etc). For our farming members, we also need you company details, VAT number (if relevant) and CPH number.
You will be asked to provide the details of your veterinary practice. If your practice is already one of our partner practices, then most of the information will already be present. If you use more than one vet practice (e.g. a farm practice for your cattle and a small animal practice for your dog), then please enter the relevant practice when registering each animal.
Many of our farming members prefer to pay via an agricultural buying group. If this is the case, then please select your buying group and we will need to confirm your membership with them before any purchases can be made. If your buying group is not listed, then please contact us (admin@invetstore.co.uk) and we will contact them to get them set up on our system.
How do I purchase medicines for my animals?
Once you and your animals are registered, simply find the products to your baskets by browsing through the categories, looking at your past orders or using the search bar and add them to basket.
Once you have put all of products you need into your basket, proceed through the checkout and payment area. Once the order has been confirmed and payment made, a notification is automatically sent directly to your vet for the prescription items you have ordered.
Your vet will then review the prescription, contact you if any alterations are required and then electronically sign it and submit it to us. Please note that if your vet wishes to alter the product details on your prescription (e.g. change the quantity of a medicine, change to an alternative product or remove the product entirely from the prescription), then the order will need to be cancelled and re-ordered with the corrected product details.
Once your prescription has been signed and submitted, your items will be dispatched to you via the delivery method that you have requested. Wherever possible, orders that contain both prescription and non-prescription products will be dispatched together once the we have received the prescription back from your vets.
Please note that although we have automated the prescription process as much as possible, vets are always busy people! We cannot advise on how long it will take for your vet to review and sign your prescription.
Will my vet charge me for my prescription?
It is up to the individual vet practice what they charge for their prescriptions, and you will have to settle your account directly with them in the normal way. However, as we are passing 90% of the profit from the medicines on your prescription back to your vet practice, we take off the value of the prescription charge before this payment is made.
How long will it take to receive my medicines?
- No prescription medicines can be dispatched before your vet has submitted your signed prescription. Once this has happened, your order will be dispatched as soon as possible via the method you have requested. The delivery options are:-
- Standard Delivery – Free of charge for orders over £20, items received within 3-4 working days of receiving the prescription.
- Express Delivery – Costs depend on the size of your order, items received within 2 working days of receiving the prescription.
Please note that due to the nature of some veterinary medicines (e.g. temperature requirements, aerosols), certain products may only be available via certain delivery methods.
